Caring For Vulnerable Children In SRI LANKA

© Still Waters International 2013

Welcome from the Director

Still Waters is a charity committed to relieve poverty and advance the life of poor families and children in Sri Lanka and India.  We are an organisation which is run on Christian principles, and seek to show compassion and care to children and families regardless of creed, class or ethnicity. The charity has a core commitment to the support of children’s homes in Sri Lanka and India.

We were granted charitable status in September 2009 as Still Waters Trust Society.

Our charity registration number is: 1131594

We provide a safe and loving home for vulnerable and neglected children, and received our first group of children on 14th February 2000.  We work in partnership with local government and voluntary agencies to provide the best care to our clients.

In addition to the Trustees in the UK, we are supported by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. We welcome short-term and long-term volunteers.  To find out more go to Still Waters Volunteers.  Our main work is in the southern town of Tangalle in Sri Lanka where the Still Waters Children’s Home is set on a fifteen-acre site close to the sea and lagoon.  Tangalle suffered huge destruction when the Tsunami hit Sri Lanka on Boxing Day 2004. Still Waters was in the forefront of providing support and shelter to those who had lost everything in this disaster.
